Florian Ricour

Biography

Florian Ricour is a marine data scientist specializing in machine learning, biogeochemical modeling, and data visualization tools. During his PhD, he developed an embedded zooplankton classification algorithm for autonomous underwater vehicles and reassessed global carbon sequestration of the Biological Carbon Pump using a continuous approach to carbon storage. His current postdoctoral research at RBINS focuses on developing biogeochemical modules using innovative tools such as FABM, studying ensemble modeling in the North Sea, and designing interactive Shiny web applications for scientific analysis.
